Swedish lesson 0

Apr18

I came across a web page that has the Swedish pronunciation of our last name today.  As most of our family and close friends know “ek” means “oak” in Swedish.  From the best of my memory, our family has always said “Ek” with a really short e, but apparently the Swedes don’t agree.  Sounds like the e is a long e, almost a ee-a, or ee-e sound.

Check it out: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/File:Sv-ek.ogg.  (When you get to the page click on the Play button… the one with the triangle on it).
